Mark Lanning

I discovered this wonderful photographer, Mark Lanning, via Elle Decoration S A, and fell in love with all his pictures. Go drool at his website. These are from Soweto, I just want to eat those colours!

Still swimming..

My favourite swimwear this season is from princesse tam tam . Gorgeous photos, too.

more swimming..

And while shopping swimwear at marc jacobs, you might want to pick up a cute bikini or bathing suit. I'm so ready for the beach today, but it's still way to cold in Oslo.

Swim in style

As you blondies out there would know, bright locks often turn green in pool water. So I always have to wear a swim cap..and it looks stupid on most heads, but especially on mine..These are a some stylish ones, from marc jacobs.

Cassandra Rhodin

New prints available from the very talented illustrator Cassandra Rhodin. This time her sleepy eyed models pose with different animals. Part of an exhibition called Animal Planet. Signed edition of 400 prints each, from 900- 1200 SEK.

Shigeru Ban

He's the kind of architect that make you drool, and wish you were able to do what he does.
Shigeru Ban builds both magnificent lasting buildings, but also works with more temporary buildings and structures. He works with what is available and often with what is recycable. He's done amazing structures using papertubes, and nomadic museums- built of containers.
He designed shelters for refugees in Rwanda made of papertubes. This led him to do temporary housing - log cabins with papertube walls for disaster victims, first after the 1995 earthquake in Kobe, Japan, where he also built a paper church, and later in Turkey and India. (The second picture is from the cabins in India)
When building the apartment building where he lives, in Hanegi Forest, Tokyo(first picture)- he didn't cut down a single tree-but worked around it.
His website has plenty of photos from all the amazing projects, do check it out.

My fix of Almodovar

While waiting for Broken embraces , Nytimes printed a beautiful Pedro collage a couple of weeks ago. Love his aesthetic eye.

Flea market find

J'adore this face. That crazy blue hair plus the calm look. Yes, I know it can be viewed as a tacky ornament, but I'm so glad I found this. Haven't quite figured where it will go in the apartment yet, though..
